Karachi stlye 360 bridal Couture

KARACHI – Style360 Bridal Couture Week in association with J&S, brought the week to a close in a magnificent way. In keeping with the bold and challenging initiative it had taken up of changing the set everyday – there were red chandeliers on the first day, and egg-shaped lamps and chandeliers on the second – the ramp was decorated with a profusion of red roses and different chandeliers, with white cut-out roses adorning the stage. The show organised by Style360 and sponsored by Pantene opened with Karachi’s home-grown Deepak Perwani, one of the well-reputed and brilliant fashion designers of Pakistan is a name that requires no introduction. His product line includes bridal wear, bridal accessories and saris. Deepak Perwani never follows the traditional or ongoing fashion statement of the country; rather he makes ‘his own’. He showcased his latest collection of bridal wear, which was a treat to watch. Reem Abbasi and Amna Kardar came in next. Reem Abbasi is an Islamabad-based jewellery designer who produces not only modern, high fashion jewellery but also intricate and traditional pieces from Pakistan’s rich culture. She considers designing jewellery as an opportunity to make her abstract ideas tangible. Her inspiration is her passion for fashion. Her collection showcased on Sunday night was all about playful nostalgia. Marking the end of this first segment was none other than the famous designer Shaiyanne Malik. Shaiyanne is an artist whose canvas encompasses the entire spectrum of Pakistani fashion. She launched her fashion label over twenty years ago, attaining fame overnight, particularly for her bridal couture. In this glitzy and fast-paced world of fashion, SamanZar remains a brand to be reckoned with. Models presenting her bridal collection received huge applause from the audience.

Heel and Women

As time goes on, more and more women are realizing that High Heel Sandals can be tricky things to wear. If you are lucky enough to be tall and slim then you can look good in any style, but if you are short or have thick calves you need to choose more wisely.
Despite the fact that wearing heels changes a woman's posture and height in a way that presumably amps up their attractiveness, the men in the experiment couldn't tell the difference between a woman who was wearing heels and one who was not (unless the heels themselves were visible).

On a similar note, men are also pretty oblivious to a woman's choice in handbags. (And we didn't even need a study to pass along that tidbit of information.)

Kundan Jewellery

Kundan jewellery is one of the most exquisite traditional Pakistani jewelry. The word Kundan itself means ‘Pure gold’ justifying the use of refined gold in designing this jewelry. Though its inception dates back to the Moghul Era, it is still in vogue among the Pakistani masses and even abroad.
The art of designing Kundan jewelry is called Kundankari, which involves a group of expert craftsmen involving chiterias, ghaarias, the goldsmith etc. Initially the jewelry piece is first shaped and then holes are cut for the precious stones to be engraved and then the pieces are enameled. When the stones are to be set, lac is inserted in the back, and is then visible in the front through the holes. The Kundan, i.e. the highly refined gold, is then used to cover the lac and the stone is pushed in it.
At times, more Kundan is layered on to finish the piece to strengthen joints and add to the beauty of the jewelry. This was the traditional way of designing them, until the western techniques of claw setting were introduced. The stones used in the jewelry vary from occasion to occasion and even the regions. The usual stones used in Kundan work include emerald, crystal rock, topaz, amethyst, jade, agate, garnet etc.
